The Canadian Pipe Fabricators Association (CPFA) was founded as an employer`s association of Canadian pipe fabrication shops in January 1986. The primary goal of the association was to develop a relationship with the Canadian Office of the United Association of Journeymen & Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the U.S.A. and Canada permitting the installation of prefabricated piping systems bearing the UA Union Yellow Label in Canada and the U.S.A. on union and non-union job sites through out the world.

The first National Standard Agreement was signed on July 16, 1987 and has been periodically renewed to date. It provides for a "No Strike, No Lockout" provision that has always been respected by the parties and installation of piping of all sizes has always been accepted on the job sites.

The CPFA works closely with member companies and the UA Canadian Office to resolve grievances and jurisdictional matters.

As a technical support to our members CPFA maintains a full associate membership in the Pipe Fabrication Institute. This gives them full access to the PFI Standards and other support items.

The CPFA holds an Annual General Meeting in cities across Canada in which member companies are encouraged to attend and participate in the affairs of the association.
